This Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet will link the accomplishments of distinguished business persons, entrepreneurs and recognized speakers, and honor the success that flourishes in the community. Recognition at the Gala Awards Banquet will encourage culturally responsible minority businesses to excel academically, succeed professionally and strive to positively impact the community.

Conference Workshops

Grass Roots Politics - This powerful workshop series instruct attendees about grass roots politics, from the fundamentals of voter registration to gathering the support of like-minded individuals and entities; transforming issues into political platforms; understanding balloting, referendums, and the legislative process. A special supplement - an overview of the Electoral College in Presidential elections - is included in the series.

Political Action Committees - Learn how to develop a political action committee for successful lobbying from idea and inception to positions and movement.

How to Network with Political Representatives - Workshop attendees will learn how political friends and foes are made and how to create a base of influence in various political arenas.

Contributions and Finance Reform - This practical workshop covers contribution limits, spending guidelines, “hard” and “soft” contributions and rules for corporate and individual contributions.

The Media in Politics - This workshop discusses the media's role as a political machine, and ways to utilize the media in political campaigning.

Political Parties - This in-depth workshops provides attendees with an overview of six political parties: Democrat, Republican, Independent, Green, Socialist and Libertarian, as well as what their roles are in the evolving political climate.

The Making of a Delegate - This workshop will discuss how to select and develop a delegate for political office, and formulate successful campaign platforms.
